This is my standard tuning version of this song. I believe Billy G plays this in Open-E tuning. I posted my Open-E method on my channel at this link: www.youtube.com

  1. you can tell a true blues guitarist by body movements while they play..you actually can see them feeling the tones that they play..i have been playing for 30 years and i love to scan youtube for real "heart"blues guitarists…

  2. DUDE! nice to see "The Paul" . . i have one . . love it . . . i got it back in ’82 off of a dude that was up against it an just needed some fast cash . . . i played it and loved it right away. I already had a ’72 Custom . . . ended up liking The Paul just as much . . gotta love them Dirty Fingers! Hey . . cool vid . . . cool to see another The Paul out there. godspeed, man

  3. Nice! I did an E-standard version in high school, but I always used 5th position.

  4. Thanks. I’ll try and get you some info next chance I get.

  5. Could you by chance give a quick description of which notes you are hittiing in the riff? I have seen a lot of other people’s versions and so far i think yours is the most correct and best soundign version. great job with it.

  6. @papafoxden, that’s cool. That version has a bigger sound to it than the original. Bigger sounding drums, more reverb, just more. Not that there’s ANYTHING wrong with the original ’72 version.

  7. Which version are you playing to? Is it the original from ’72 or the "Six Pack" from ’87?

  8. I doubt this is the only one he does in Open E, although I don’t recall the others off the top of my head. He also uses Drop D tuning on occasion. Thanks.

  9. Great Lesson. Might be worth an open E tunning for this one. Is this the only song Billy does in open E?

  10. sweeet tone! ah the mighty Les Paul! nice jam man!

  11. Thanks Tim for the good comments. Yeah, "The Paul" is sweet with a feel all of its own. Jam on!

  12. Outstanding. I subscribed just to see what else you have on here. If you’re playing this, then you must have good taste.. Thanks man.. Oh, the paul. I used to have one in Mahogany awhile back. They are killer guitars!
