The State of the Economy here in the USA is sad issue for most Americans. It has been falling apart for almost 10 years now and certainly is in the worst shape that I have seen it in my life time. Unemployment is like a cancer eating away at this great nation. Yet, the wealthy seem to get richer while the struggling middle class gets poorer. The song in this video is about this situation. It is a performance of an original MOTU song titled The Land Of The Free ( © 2012 by MOTU). The wind was blowing very hard during this performance and there is wind noise on the recording. So to get around the noise issue the song lyrics run across the bottom of the video. This HD video taken by Dee Loebl at the 2012 Cedar Beach Blues Festival. It features MOTU (Dr Richard Michelson) on vocals and guitar, Dee Chetta on vocals, Frank Latorre on Harmonica, Lora Kendall on Violin, Mark Loebl on bass, George Gashonia on guitar, and Ed Modzel on drums.Check out more of MOTUs music from any of his 12 albums, some of which spent 4 months on CDBabys Editors Picks List and also received RAVE reviews from known music journals like Elmore Magazine. MOTU is a past winner of two BILLBOARD World Music Awards and was also past SemiFinalist Winner in the International Blues Challenge (IBC)! MOTUs most recent 11th CDDVD 2 disc set titled "Time Runs Faster" features an all star band of some very well known music industry performers. 1. I dig the fact that Motu writes songs about issues. His BP protest song Death Comes To Louisiana was also great. Motu, keep doing what you do so well.

  2. Very important song! Not too many song writers say things these days, Good to hear motu stirring up the sh$#@!

  3. Motu is one of the few writers left that actually writes about anything important! Great song and great performance!

  4. The economy is screwed up from the Bush Administration. When Obama took office this country was falling off a cliff. Obama pulled us back from the abyss! Great song Motu! I wish I had been there to see this live!

  5. Great to see Motu writing about such an important topic,

  6. That’s what I love about MOTU. He uses his music to say something. This is a lost art these days and it is great to hear MOTU using music to make a statement!

  7. An important song that really means a lot right now!
