i wish i had read this post a week ago. i dont have a computer so i just wrote down what he said ,went home and turned on my vox tonelab , tuned her up and punched myself in the face for 3 hours. this is a great video though, i love this guy

That is a really creative open D tuning (0:34 – 0:58) DADF#BA! The planet waves chromatic tuner that he plugs right after probably tells you how a 1st string tuned down a fourth can support a slide….

So many of these guitar tutorials hype themselves with their titles and they’re usually a disappointment or are confusing or over elaborate.
This one lives up to it. Really good lesson. That guy has magic in his fingers!

Correction: The 2nd string is tuned down to A (not B) and the first string is tuned down to D (not A)

I’m a decent lead guitarist, but I’ve always had ridiculous trouble with slide. The whole L-shape concept makes things about a hundred times easier, best slide instructional I’ve seen!

awsome. a lot of good info in a short video. do you have to set the strings (action) especially high compared to non-slide playing?
