  1. i almost just went out to buy Daddario strings, and i don’t even need new strings.

  2. awesome video man, thanx a lot! your tricks come in handy.

  3. without a doubt-the coolest cat kickin’ slide

  4. Matt Smith has the gift to be able to teach the basic stuff with patience. This tuning is almost 70 years old… Bravo Matt.

  5. Great Lesson sir you made it so easy and so many tricks. .. !! Thank you for the effort you have put for the lesson. Cheers

  6. Killer… Love it.
But what tuning was Matt using?

  7. Great lesson – very funny and informed – well done Matt

  8. Killer combo of sly humor and slick slide wrapped up in a great teacher!

  9. Learned a lot from these videos. You break it down the right way to easily understand. And all I ever use is D’Addario strings

  10. brilliant you have taught me slide guitar thanks

  11. Thanks, Matt. Love your videos!! learned a lot of basic stuff that makes sense and I can acually use..

  12. That is, in fact, an Ovation Guitar. If you search online for "Chrome Dome Slides" you should find the bullet-ended slides you’re looking for.

  13. The brand of guitar I believe is "Ovation"

  14. Very Cool… Just learned a but load!!!
What kind of GTR is that? It’s beautiful!! Also, Wher can I get a slide like that w/ the closed end??

  15. I’ve been playing for about 18 years, but never bold enough to try slide, Just got a Resonator from wife and kids for Christmas. Went and bought a ceramic mud slide yesterday. Set down to this video and Mr. Smith has put it out in a way I can get it. Thank you so much for posting this video.

  16. Matt Smith is one of the best teachers (and enjoyable) I have come across–and I have a lot of hours logged (as I’m a founding member of the geezers w/ guitars set) of looking for good instruction. I found one of his books years ago called "Chop Shop." If you ever see it, you might do well to spend a couple of minutes checking it out-see if you don’t agree. bob

  17. Hey, bro, can´t know why, but I think he’s using D’ addario strings =P

  18. great teacher this guy really modest good random banter quite a laugh. good teaching qualities especially when it comes to frustrating guitar lessons

  19. Can you tell me what Ovation model Matt play in this video?
