    This songs not about selling his soul. It’s about him knowing his old lady was givin him the mess around so she brought the "devil out of him" and he went to whoopin on her, then he felt, "so my evil spirit can catch a greyhound ride" not saying his SOUL is evil, just the angry spirit that made him do what he did.
