  1. humbucker (for sustain) neck pickup (for the low treble), max reverb (for fullness) and high gain for distorsion.

  2. That’s E minor, or G major. It will sound great over the chords he plays here. Check the chords of your backing track so you’ll know which scales to play 😀

  3. @gg5eric g dorian? that mixed with the blues and pentatonic might sound good

  4. The other scales you started playing after 2:05… Are they also G Minor Pentatnoic?
I played a backing track with the scales you showed me here and it sounded AMAZING!
I was hoping too see if there is more than just 3 scales. =S (For G Minor)

  5. BTW.. I’ve played guitar for about 2 years now, and this video helped me move foward sooooo much… I was at a stand still stage for a very long time. And this boost me up a lot. Also teaches me improv.

  6. I also have an original 1989 Charvel Fusion Deluxe I picked up off Ebay too from the Jackson era (has the toothpaste logo). It’s neon orange and plays like a $4k guitar. I still have the original Jackson humbucker the bridge but the single coil in the neck wasn’t sounding right, like it was grounding out, so I switched it with a DiMarzio Chopper.

The Jackson era Charvels were quite something, The new generation are great, but can’t lay a finger on the originals 🙂

  7. Yeah,Charvels are good axes, especially with the original Jackson pickups in them.

  8. I have this model of Charvel 🙂 – the Japan production model though. It’s my main axe, I also have a USA made Red Ale So-Cal and a Taxi Cab yellow San Dimas.

  9. Great lesson. Couldn’t help but notice that first lick is from Learning to Fly. Such great tone and phrasing.

  10. Love this guy. He looks like he could be a 80’s punk or Phil Anselmo’s little brother but seems like a really good guy and instructor.
