I think Open G Sounds really good on that tele. It sounds good on other guitars as well but I feel like Open G is more of a country blues sound. The Tele is great for country blues.

another excellent video John. I see that you’re using the Tele rather than the Humbucker SG or 335. Really like the sound. I also note that a lot of players of slide in Open G use single coil guitars, mainly Strats e.g. Lowell George, Ry Cooder, Bonnie Raitt. Do you think Open G sounds better on single coils?

John, you teaching are super smooth and easy to follow which at my level I certainly appreciate very much. Since finding you a few months ago on the YT, I have certainly found you to be the best to learn from style and presentation wise, and thus have purchased some DVD’s from you. Continued success to your future endeavors with LearningGuitarNow. Only which I could afford a Gibson es335 like you use in your other videos. Take care

brilliant work John. I’ve actually just uploaded a blues jam track in G that’d go well with this!
