Just trying to say that open G does not necessarily make you sound like Keith Richards, no hating… Except on Marty, he’s just bad.

That doesn’t make him a good guitarist, just part of a popular band. What saddens me is hearing from Marty that we’ll automatically sound like Keith R by tuning to open G. That’s so false, open G has so many possibilities and sounds which I have never heard from Keith R’s playing.

And Marty.. He is just bad at open G. Quote: "I can’t really play any lead in open G." Well Marty, when 3 of 6 strings are tuned the same as standard tuning, you must suck at standard tuning as well.

He is not very good… and btw Keith Richards utilizes the open G tuning in a boring way (blues vamps are perfectly possible in standard tuning). If you want to play nice songs in open G, check out how Mark Tremonti of Alter Bridge utilizes this wonderful tuning.

sometimes he played 2 stings on the Tele’.
But lets not forget his Idol was Chuck Berry and he played alot of riffs.
