I thought it was about time I posted a slide guitar blues without any multi-tracking, looping or editing. Found it quite hard, but enjoyed having a go. It is a bit rougher around the edges than other things Ive done lately, but I was encouraged by some nice feedback suggesting that it is fine, good and natural to have a bit of noise from fingersslide on the strings etc.; it is also true to say that playing rhythm and solo in one go challenges my technique and after many takes I still couldnt eliminate all the buzzes and bumps. Anyway this is just a another step on the way as I go Pushing On towards being able to just grab my guitar and play a blues piece that comes to mind without fiddling with technology. The guitar is a Tanglewood Electro-acoustic tuned to Open D. Its played through a Vox DA5 with my Blue Snowball mic in front. A bit of amplification was helpful to give me enough volume for a direct unedited video recording on my laptop. All the settings were neutral with just a little reverb. The slide is a heavy glass one. I was wearing warm slippers.
