A sad tune which seemed to express regret played in a minor key on acoustic slide guitar. I used fretting behind the slide to get minor chords and played the slide at an angle in places to get some of the paired notes. Tanglewood electro-acoustic guitar, tuned to open d, played with a Dunlop Mudslide, recording using a Blue Snowball microphone and Audacity. Warm slippers and hat essential on a rather chilly evening.

  1. Thank you kindly. Enjoy the winter break. All the best, Phil

  2. Thanks. I’m in open D, which I’ve seen you using to great effect in your latest video. The first bit involves me holding down 1.3 (first string, third fret), then shifting to 1.2 and 5.3, then 1.0 and 4.3, while finger picking around these strings and the open second string. These relate to Dm, Am, and back to Dm. I then strum holding down 4.3 and 3.3 to get a full Dm chord. Then I hold 3.1 and 2.1 to get a full Am chord for a strum and twiddle before switching to slide around frets 8, 7 and 5.

  3. Beautifully atmospheric original Phil! I was going to say "hats off to you" but it’s kind of chilly here too…..thumbs up, instead! Cheers, Ray
