delta blues music

  1. Sometimes I wish I could drop everything I’m doing and become a traveling blues musician. As long as I can see the states, play my guitar, and have a meal at least twice or thrice a day, I’d be happy. Easier said than done though. Too bad juke joints, playing for tips, and cheap everything is a thing of the past now. Sigh….

  2. "Who is the other guy playing with him?" – Keith Richards

  3. ive never heard of that but it is interesting,i just read about johnson once and recognized it because i do that when i play acoustic as well

  4. Definitely start with Son House. He was the man when Robert Johnson was just starting. Son House said Robert wasn’t very good when he first started – then RJ left town for awhile and came back with fantastic skill and impressed all the old-timers. Even older than Son House was Charlie Patton. It’s amazing we have recordings of all of these musicians. I read various books over the years, interviews/documentaries with people like Robert Lockwood, Jr (the only person to learn guitar from RJ).

  5. JHONSON ¡¡¡¡BLUES ¡¡¡¡¡….GOD BLESS YOU ¡¡¡

  6. If you could name a couple and how you got the info I would be very grateful. I cant find any info on who inspired Robert J though I have been looking. And yeah black musicians were very limited in alot of things back in the 1930’s as you could imagine they say Robert Johnson only managed to rec 29 songs before he was poisoned and even with those 29 songs he was barely recognised.

  7. there would not be no rock and roll if were not because of artists like robert johnson

  8. Many came before and influenced Robert Johnson as well. Robert had aspirations to be more than just a "blues" musician, anyhow. Black musicians were very limited in what they could get put on record.

  9. cool. kind of like the motown museum, they show you the open spot in the ceiling where the sound reverberates differently, and the singers would stand there. Adding to the "motown sound"

  10. he got dragged to hell by hellhounds accourding to supernatural

  11. Supposedly made a deal with the Satan ; right Jimmy ‘ like you and Crowley !

  12. Yankees aint got not no clue ’bout the Mississippi delta blues. Robert Johnson is where it all started. Listen close to your pop, rock garbage these days you will hear those licks hidden deep inside even in 2012 music today. Regardless of the variety.

  13. shiit if it wasnt for this guy, they’d be no eric clapton, rolling stones, or anything we listened to from the 1930s to present day

  14. This guy was also one of the first members of the 27 club. He had a couple of cougars in every town he stayed in and drank wiskey by the barrol load. He was rock and roll before it was invented!

  15. you spelled his name wrong….what’s with that? a any ways you have a good taste in music cheers

  16. Remember Rock and Roll was founded from Blues. Spoonful which was sung by the group Cream(Eric Clapton) was originally sung by Howlin’ Wolf a Blues musician. And Hounddog which was sung by Elvis was originally sung by Big Mama Thornton.. And countless other songs ..Remember the roots of the tree before you judge..

  17. he played with his back turned because the acoustics in a corner on a regular acoustic guitar sounds better than out in the open,i think its called corner loading or sumthin like that

  18. Are you stupid? This guy started everything you currently listen to. Go do some research.

  19. this guy is horrible!! eric clapton is way better!!!

  20. id sell my soul at the crossroads if given the chance
