  1. Thank you for your interest and question. Originally it was the inexpensive price and the quality you received for the price. They are built of light wood and ladder braced. Made to vibrate. Although, without a truss rod, they are very prone to folding up and causing the neck to lift. Romantically, vintage Ocsar Schmidt Stellas are the real deal. Once you play one and hear the tone, it makes it apparent why they are so prized. Enjoy.

  2. Keni…what qualities of the Stella lend it so popular for the blues, in your opinion?

  4. Your guitars always sound well set up,never a buzz or anything. That Stella’s sweet tones are unmistakably vintage.Good luck with your auction im sure having heard the tones and seen the playability people will show an interest in this fine piece of vintage americana.tc sir.

  5. Thank you for your comment. I think I enjoy searching the fingerboard and creating arrangements the most enjoyable part of playing guitar. Enjoy.

  6. Thank you for your interest and question. I used this one in the When the Saints Go…video. I try to purchase unplayable guitars for reasonable prices and have them restored. A local luthier restores them and I sell them at a small profit. Considering how scarce these old Stellas are, I get satisfaction from resurrecting them from the dead and making them available for fans of the early Blues. Pretty cool to own the real thing. This one has a very rasonable reserve. Enjoy.
