If you havent seen the film, Once, go see it. Its a great film with a fantastic soundtrack. This songs a bit different for me. Its an open E tuning song and thats what creates those perfect chords.

  1. oh boy i’ll tell ya what, no one can match glen as far as "irish belting" i suppose, but this to me sounds exactly like what the song would sound like if john darnielle of the mountain goats did it. I hope you take that as a compliment seeing as john darnielle and the mountain goats are one of my favorites, as well as one of my biggest inspirations. Well done lad!

  2. lol i lobe open tunings my friendnjust heck out my videos one is in CGDF#BbD and other is ECDGAD and i love thisn tuning now ahah

  3. It’s in Open E. Tune the 5th and 4th Strings up a whole step and the third string up a half step. This will give you an E Major without any strings pressed. What’s useful about open tunings is that you can get a more precise chord from the guitar since you can fine tune the strings to make that great open chord. The downside is that you’ve got to learn all new positions for your fingers.
