john- ive been playing slide for a while now. really enjoy your videos. i started with bottleneck and have been messing around with lap slides. i am having trouble progressing though. cant get past the basic notes as the ones on the frets you are playing. where can i find info on playing this scale in different positions?

Yeah, Boomers are good strings. Personally I play 9’s, but that’s mainly to ease my playing further since I play metal and it’s more comfortable playing with lighter gauges. It all depends on your preference, really.

1 question… does it matter what kind of strings you have? because i have crappy, cheap, bad and not flexible strings. please tell me what kind of strings i can use.

I think the major chords are easy enough. You could probably capo on G etc. if playing in another Key. The G# can be combined with any of the E’s to make a minor chord. Your normal 2-note power/ 5-chord shape on the E and A strings is now a 6th, for color. You have 3 E’s and 2 B’s, which are all 3-note whole step intervals, so won’t get into too much trouble w/ single note riffs. The G string, which is now G# is the only one you’ll have to think a little bit about, as it’s 1/2, &2 wholes

Specifically "Can’t Be Satisfied".
"I’m goin’ away today, won’t be back no more, goin’ back down south. Child don’t you wanna go? Woman I’m trouble, I be all worried mind. Well you know I just can’t be satisfied, I just can’t keep from cryin’…."
Great tune, one of my favorites.
