  1. Amazing sound and most of all FEELING! I love to hear this kind of soulful music being played by someone who obviously feels the music. Every NOTE! Thanks for posting.

    Buz

  8. needs no acompaniement or vocals. perfect just the way it is…paints a picture of a poor southern family in the 30’s and 40’s just trying to get throught life. perfect man

  10. Great playing 😉
I once tried a guitar simular to that one and i cannot remember what it was called,it was about 10 years ago lol
But i just couldnt get to grips with it and you have made me realise it’s because of the style.
Funny though because i have got more into writting songs with different tunings.

  11. Hello fellow cone head!stumbled on your channel .Love the sound of your 1930s dobro .Ihave a steel bodied reso of unknown origin with strange sound ports.Stop by some time and take a look.

  12. – Yeah… that would be some things called resonance, and harmonics. I can’t do it worth a darn yet, but my grandfather-in-law who makes Hilton Dobro can do it all day long. He plays dobro chimes flawlessly like nobody else too which drives me mad. I really love this application and style of it. Great work man.

  13. I like it man. Good job! I just recently recorded a cover of Daughters and they’re were a few solos that were a lot like this dobro style.

  14. Well done friend….and a fine axe it is!!

  15. i reckon if you tune it to DAD you should be able to work it out, the main part is around the 2nd and 4th fret on the first string and the other part is 7th fret 5th fret open on all the strings, i hope this makes sense

  16. Don’t suppose you could tab this for a 3 string cbg . Then I could shuffle off this mortal coil in peace bro. Cheers for this it’s damn fine.

  17. Haunting sound from a lovely instrument and well played sir!

  18. hair raising on the back of your neck tackle, fantastic

  19. 2:32 was amazing. Never heard someone make a dobro bark.
Best video I’ve seen and heard in awhile.
I love the sound of that instrument.
