Song was written by Keith in Switzerland, in a clinic while he was getting off dope. In general it was KR who wrote songs, Mick then came up with complete lyrics.

According to Keith, it just came into his head.

No i dont think you’re right about that. both songs are in a minor key this one is in a minor and hotel is in b minor, the finger picking style is similar but the chord changes are different
