  1. Jack White was playing Robert Johnson when I was eight days old……

  2. Just to add… She is a terrible drummer. But JW said once that he used to forbid her from practicing so her "style" would stay the same. He didn’t want her to improve so that the sound of the band would stay as it was. It allowed him to play as loose as he wants. Not such a bad thing for a sick blues guitarist to work over.

  3. immaculate innocence….go ahead believing in anything people say….see how far you will go.

  4. I worth noting that The Rolling Stones did a cover of Stop Breaking Down on Exile on Main St.

  5. What the hell are you talking about "don’t believe everything a musician tells you" and "they are not your friend". Uhm… that wasn’t my point at all and trust you to miss that point just the same way you missed the point that Meg’s drumming is an integral part of the band. I understand their aim because I am a fan. Meg is like a little child banging on her favorite toy, Jack saw the beauty in that and decided to make it a key element. THAT was my point and if you can’t understand that then…

  6. right, i get your point. for me her performance in THIS video is awful. but most important, if you listen the albums released more recently, you will find a more or less "standard" way to play drums. i mean, don’t believe in everything a musician could tell you about music, he/she is there to sell you something and to make you "dream". they are not your friends, and actually i don’t believe in a romantic side of the fact. for me, was just a matter of contingency

  7. i thought you were italian because of your nick. if you are not, sorry. i will translate the comment in english.

  9. You’re definitely missing the whole appeal of The White Stripes. Meg isn’t meant to be John Bonham. Her simplistic, childlike approach to drumming is actually premeditated and supposed to be, and it works. It allows for contrast between the more complicated guitar riffs, the same way the contrast between red white and black is premeditated. Jack once said that red white and black are the first colors a baby notices, which is what inspired him. He wanted to present a childlike image.
