  1. Not exactly, although you have all notes from dorian plus the blue note (b5). But in his approach, you must use the 9th (same as 2nd) and 13rd (same as 6th) degrees from the dorian to add some extra tensions in traditional blues scale. All turns about what you do and how do you do with this concept.

  2. your hybrid scale is simply adding the minors relative majors 7th degree and a #4th (kinda dorianish) so its technically okay 🙂

  3. Damn Justin , your fingers are dancing to your music. Thank you for giving me my confidence back. I`m not scared to watch proffesionals play anymore.

  4. thanks mate, what a cool sound much appreciated

  5. The only song I recall the blue note being stopped on is baby please don’t go.Is that right?

  6. this is the blues scale that Dimebag always used, good lesson on it though.

  7. Thanks Justin, great lesson. But it is unclear to me on what occasion i should use the mixed scale, minor or major?

  8. I love these videos! That hybrid scale is a perfect bridge between pentatonic, blues and dorian mode!
