Bottleneck Slide Guitar Boogie Blues

Ive been working on this song this week. Its from a James Cotton album, "Deep in the Blues" called Vineyard blues but I dont know who played it. Open G. I LOVE this song. I was using the foot pedals to a casio electric drum set for kick bass and closed high hat and playing them with the feet but you cant hear them.I finally got the neck on my Rogue resonator guitar glued back together. FOR THE THIRD TIME! This time, screws, oak dowels and Gorilla glue but now the neck angle is off. The strings are really high which is nice until you want to play single notes or chords without the slide. With the slide its great. I guess Ill fix that next, I think the neck is gonna hold this time. Love that gorilla glue!

What gauge strings are you using? I have this same guitar and it’s been fine, so I wounder if it might be a string tension issue. Just a thought, not trying to imply you have done something wrong.

I bought it with the neck repaired, it broke, I glued and bolted it, it broke again and I gorilla glued it, put 2 oak dowels at angles, put the bolts back in and it’s held ever since!

Thanks, that was very kind of you. I’ve been listening to some of your videos, really neat stuff, very original. Wish I could do something original but there’s just so much good music out there and I want to play it all first.
