Derek Trucks playing a kick ass slide guitar solo at Summerfest in Milwaukee on July 6th 2008 with the "Soul Stew Revival". I was really lucky to be as close as I was. The footage was such good quality. Not exactly sure what the song is called, but its all great just the same.

  1. I always wonder about the people who dislike things like this.. Do they not have ears or something?

  2. …… Ha ha ha thats for sure mate, smiles al round ….happy days.

  3. damn! hes just taking slide in terms of sheer technical possibility – to the next level at this point… I love how at 1:44 he loses control on that fast microtonal slide a little bit and just repeats it right after—NAILS it…. in this vein man.. hes just the best out there right now..period.

  4. Thanks for sharing this video. And your right it’s the most expression on his face I’ve ever seen to. LOL! I talked to him for a moment at a show. He might be the most meek shy character I’ve ever come across.

  5. Super tough question, can’t really answer that. Everything he plays is excellent. "So close, so far away" is definitely up there, also you should check out all the vids of him playing "Queen of Spades" with Clapton, his solos are just insane.

  6. thnx and wich of hissongs u like the best? just curiosity

  7. Sounds like "Get out of my life woman" – an old Allen Tousaint jam

  8. the solo kind of reminds me of new kids on the block Hangin Tough solo

  9. @dws9312 its a custom sg very sick guitar thing is amazing played one of them before

  10. This guy is AWESOME I want him to play on the next CD of The Vagrants

  11. oh man how could i forget roy rogers the guy is epic.

  12. @IncarnationOfHendrix It sure would be nice to see you back up that (very big) statement with some proof. Alas, your channel is empty.

  13. It’s pretty damn disrespectful and to yell and scream during the beginning of someone’s solo like an idiot. I don’t get how listening to yourself make noises instead of paying attention to a solo shows respect for what they’re doing. "Annoying" pretty much goes hand in hand with disrespectful when someone is playing music.
