Sessions for Robert Johnson

  1. *paying homage. if u knew enough about where this was taken from you would know that Clapton has the utmost respect.. AND goes out of his way to teach people that he cannot play as well as RJ play this music. Clapton is the first to tell you that for the most part he NEEDS a second player to do the piece justice..even Eric Clapton is bewildered by RJ’s guitar ability.

  2. doyle III has been playing w/clapton for a long, long time. nothing new. they compliment eachother so well.

  3. What I like about this is that it’s recorded in the very same building(disused now) that RJ made his recordings.

  4. The recording is clipping big time. Still, the performance is amazingly true to the blues. Old souls.

  5. CANT get enough from this track. its awesome perfeckt thanks robert johnson and clapton.

  6. Honestly if clapton had a tour where he went out with just an acoustic guitar and played all of robert johnson’s songs(maybe layla encore) I would be happy.

  7. doesnt seem like they’re having much fun… it’s like a chore or sth. not very soulful, quite a pity.

  8. If you want to know the secret to Robert’s guitar playing…… approach the guitar from a piano player’s standpoint. R.J. did use various tunings for different songs, mostly open A tuning.

  9. standard tuning–you can get the cd "me and mr Johnson-you can learnthe tunes fromthat-I also learnd "Last fair deal gone down" -I know many others-that Ive been doing electricly for years-but I’ve always wanted to do johsons more undiscovered by the electric guitar ones.come into my kitchen Death letter blues-Someone else–Sun House I think–Texas Flood by the original artist Fenten Benton-larry Davis the orig. artists-you can hear where stevie got his licks from-
