I was playing around with this piece, while watching Felix Baumgartner make his record-breaking jump from 23 miles up. The view from the capsule as he first fell to earth was awe inspiring; my little bit of playing is rather less so, but Free Fall seemed liked a good title. It is played on my Tanglewood electroacoustic guitar, tuned to open d, with a Dunlop Mudslide. The guitar goes through a Vox DA5 set with a little reverb. I recorded using a Blue Snowball USB Mic and Audacity. Very warm slippers were on as I was suffering from a cold. I was drinking "Throat Comfort" Yogi Tea, which was a new one for me and quite nice.

  1. Great Philip! You’re a natural slide player – the soul just pours out from your playing. I think this is my favourite of all your pieces. Cheers, Ray.
