  1. Thank you for your feedback. Yes, The videos (.avi and .wma – Windows media) will play on your PC or Mac. We used DVDs for more storage space. Although, they are not formatted to play on a standard TV DVD player. Always remember, I am available for questions too. Please feel free to email. Glad to hear you are enjoying the material. Thank you again for your purchases and support. Enjoy your practice.

  2. Keni and readers. What Keni calls a CD is really a DVD. That’s why your getting videos. The price for an audio only CD is of far less value than the video DVDs he sends you. Oh the the price of a great training DVD with instructional PDFs is worth a lot more than what he’s selling them for. Great video quality and fantastic instruction.

  3. I’m starting out in a 4 string CBG. I really like your approach to the theory for writing my own. Btw I love your vids.

  4. Thank you for your comment and question. The tablature for this video is included on my instructional video CD 5. It is for sale on ebay by searching: keni lee If you need alternate ordering information, please contact me. Enjoy your practice.

  5. Thank you for your reply. Good choice. Darren builds some very fine CBGs. As you may know, I own a few. I believe considering your approach, you will find the lessons fun and useful. In general, they offer an exploration of open tuning that makes it possible to figure out songs and create your own arrangements. Once you get into your practice, feel free to write if any questions arise. I look forward to hearing about your discoveries. Enjoy.

  6. but not for some chords and sing along stuff, I always stick to delta bluesy improv., not too much thinking, just playin’

I’ got myself my first slides also and I was thrilled and I want to start learning playing these CBGs, It will be a nice addition to my easy riding and my Bues-Hard Rock and all in between fixation

So, as soon as I’ll get money for, I’ll buy all your cds, I love the way you teach, and your style also

You and Darren are my inspiration, I owe you both

    THANKS !

  7. Thank YOU !!!

I’ve been playing (maybe it is too much said :)) at home only for the last 12 years in the week-ends and at holydays on dreadnoughts, Strats, LPs and Explorer guitars, and even I still love them through my Marshall I always come back to my old acoustic, especially in the evenings (I still need a nice porch),

  11. Also very good job explaining.. I’m building one now and I just need the strings to test it out

  12. Top 4 strings? Can you by chance give me a name brand or a specific instrument type of strings you use?

  13. My pleasure. Thank you for your interest and comment. Enjoy.

  14. Thank you for you comment. Yes, once you understand the string relationships in open tuning, it doesn’t matter how many strings are on your instrument. Please check out my instuctional CD 5 (How to Play 4 string CBG / tenor guitar, uke, banjo) on ebay by searching: keni lee It provides a comprhensive study of the fingerboard using Dgbd tuning. Enjoy.

  15. funny thing; I wanted to start to learn this cigar box guitar style playing, but I havent still made my own guitar. So I picked up my banjo and was thinking to put it into same tuning and not just play the fifth string.. While I was tuning I noticed that this mini spanish-tuning is same as in banjo open G! 🙂

So now I can start learn blues with my banjo! Thanks to you!

  16. @maghits40 Thank you for your comments and question. Yes, you are correct. String gauge must be matched with tuning note in relationship to scale length. This CBG has a scale length of 24 3/4". It is important to experiment with light to medium gauges to get the corret tension. Too loose is not good for slide and the box does not vibrate. Too tight locks up the guitar and damages the neck. I use GDg on my 3 string and retune to ADf#. ADf# has the same relationship as Dgb. (GDG)B and G(DGB)
