  1. playing rythm, killer slides and singing at the same time, only delta musicians can do it!

  2. Perhaps im not correct as I hear different from u again… "The blues is a low down aching heart disease. It kills by degrees" whereas I’m hearing "The bluuuuu-u-ooes iS’a low down aching heart disease, like consumption….: killing me by da’grees" ‘consumption’ – meaning; tuberculosis… it was the 30’s. Either way Im glad that u like enjoy listening to Robert Johnson. And Gyp to me means giving someone abuse. As for gypsies they dont bother nobody.. at least not that I know of.

  3. You could be correct. I’ve seen it written both ways. If a man played and sang it either way with conviction and heart, it would be fine by me. Thats the part of the Robert Johnson legend that captivates and mesmerizes. We just can’t quite figure him out. The blues is a low down aching heart disease. It kills by degrees. It is a gypsy (a gyp) that cheats you in the end. Like a deal you make that don’t deliver and takes more than you bargained for. That’s why we hear what we hear.Hummm

  4. Yeah that attack of his, on songs with the slide is one of a kind…He pushes the chord progression. It makes the verse into a story because the sound of the slide punctuates it .."The Blues a LOw Down Stinkin Gyp…The Blues a Low Down Stinkin Gyp…Hope you never have them. Hope You never will"

  5. The lyrics are great but I don’t need them to love this song absolutely. 1:17 is just… it doesn’t get better than that. Mr. Johnson, no one will ever be as good as you were.

  6. I’ve heard people say that this recording was sped up. I know one person who can play it this fast, but not this good! One of my favourites, absolutely! Please don’t let this one get lost…

  7. HEYeeeeeeeeeeeeee, I have the duo caseette pack with a little book, of course I
have had forever! I’ve got to see you JUST see you, oh I might want to squeeze you too. blue sky’s and starlit nights RIGHT!

  8. All that missed my great uncles music was title! Go J!

  9. happy 99th birthday!!!!!!, too bad he didnt get to live till’ this day…

  10. you can hear the slide knocking on the neck and frets thats one heck of a slide progression its seems to speed up during the song… traditional blues
