An instructional video on how to play this classic Robert Johnson tune! There are two versions of Crossroads that Johnson originally recorded. This lesson is on his original take…the other version that you may have heard is the alternate take that he made. Both are really similar and equally awesome! If you can play this version, youll have no problem at all with the other version…just use your ears! Check out my website for more Delta Blues lessons and discussion: www.deltabluesguy.blogspot.ca Heres the original recording: www.youtube.com

  1. Great lesson dude!! Thanks for the video, I got this down immediately..

  2. Robert Johnson played with his pinky finger and I just don’t think that you could hit the same chord shapes that he played if you play on your ring finger.

Rory Block changes the chord shapes on songs like Terraplane Blues because can’t play them with the slide on her ring finger. Her sound is one of the best though and if it works for her, and you like it, go ahead! I play Blind Willie Johnson with my ring finger…
