  3. Play the blues? Anyone? Maybeso . . . . . but not create the sound, nor the feeling, let alone write this kinda music and open a door to countless styles of music, not to mention Rock.

  17. Love in vain. What a beautiful story and representation of love lost, remembered, and then documented.

  18. I agree 100{10faa3092bae83cdf963b1ab1025701434ba1e012413cb9c0c72be0a479389c3}, Charley Patton, Son House, Tommy Johnson, Kokomo Arnold, and several others were influences on Robert Johnson’s music. I understand that the British brought attention to his music but I’m saying they themselves can’t play the blues.

  19. To put it bluntly, I don’t really care about the Brits, at all. I was trying to illistrate the point, that Robert Johnson made little impact on the popular music (blues) of his time. His biggest hit, was only a marginal success, and then he died. It was the Brits that have caused him to receive a disproportionate amount of attention posthumously. I like his stuff a lot, but he didn’t invent the blues, nor is he the be all end all.

  20. The Stones are nowhere near as good as Mr. Johnson. However I disagree with you that certain types of people(based upon where that person is from or race) can’t sing or play the blues. Sure they might not have that deep, booming voice or the accent but it’s still the blues. I mean look at (early)Clapton and Rory Gallagher(who was actually Irish). Hendrix himself has remarked at how talented Gallagher was.

  21. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. He promised that He will return, but not in 2012. Seek JESUS CHRIST while He may be found.
