Wish people would stop bringing Bieber and Gaga into these forums… Tired of hearing it. We get it.

The man’s name is Robert "Jr.’ Lockwood" (NOT Robert Lockwood, Jr.). The "Jr." is a nickname that points back to the man who taught him how to play guitar: Robert Johnson.

Saw him play with band out of Cleveland 12 years back or so. The guitarist was a match for Stevie Ray Vaughn and the lead singer was a Jimmie wannabe, with real talent. He could play the guitar right or left handed, and did so in the middle of a song. Anyone remember the name of that band? The guitarist went on to play with Big Jack Johnson. Great F ing band. Saw them many times high as a kite on the x. Great times.

His name is really Robert Lockwood Jr. after his father; Robert Jr. was a nickname that fans and record companies adopted. He hated it.
Robert Lockwood Jr. was, in so many ways, both the Godfather of the Blues and the man who carried the legacy of Robert Johnson’s music from the acoustic six-string blues of Johnson to his versions on electric twelve-string guitar. Even at 91 he did 50-80 pushups daily to keep his fingers nimble for the electric guitar.
