Cover of "Happy" by the Rolling Stones. Toms version of the 1972 track from "Exile on Main Street" with his trusty 1976 Telecaster in open G tuning. Key of Bb. The original key was B but in the past few decades Keith has been singing it in Bb. Capo on the third fret. One online source says that when performing "Happy," Keith plays his 1954 Telecaster nicknamed Malcolm. This guitar is kept in open G tuning, although another online source says that Malcolm is kept in open B tuning (B, F#, B, D#, F#). It would seem unlikely that anyone would play a song in the key of Bb on a guitar with open B tuning. Tom Hauck is a former guitar player and songwriter for Bostons powerpop titans the Atlantics (1976 – 1982) and Ball and Pivot (1983 – 1988).
