Ive put up a better looking version of this clip of the White Stripes performing "Death Letter" under "White Stripes (Part 3) Houston 2001 Live Concert" on Youtube. This is the White Stripes playing at Rudyards in Houston on 9142001. The Greenhornes and Edith Frost (both on Youtube) were the opening bands. This video is dedicated to Joe Omelchuck, who is the sound guy at Rudyards and does an amazing job! I have now had about 80 comments telling me that he is playing a Kay guitar (Ive erased most of them). There is no need to tell me anymore that he is playing a Kay guitar.

  1. the brand of guitars is kay not what hes named it

  2. possibly one of the most coolest sounds you can get out of a guitar, simply just raw, love the harmonic scream of those higher notes during the solo, just….too cool

  3. Jack White + Slide Guitar = Where did my pants go?

  4. if meg was good at drummin the white stripes would have sucked. ok they wouldn’t cuz jack white basically could use one of those toy piano’s that has basic drum beats you get at a kids store…somehow mic it – spray paint the bastard red, spit on it and that would be his drums. meg has boobs so…not sure where i’m going now. oh yeah white stripes forever. and don’t like my comment…you’d just piss jack off. thanks.

  5. All I can think after watching this is what is life if you’re not Jack White. He’s a freakin’ God.

  6. Oh pfft, well shows how much i know about his guitar XD

  7. All i know, is that he helped his brother move some stuff to his department store, and his bro gave him that guitar as payment. He calls it "Kay"

  8. I love how he intentionally made the guitar a bit out of tune so he could pick a fight with it…Atta boy Jack!

  9. no matter what "instrument" you play its not about the persons skill. its about the persons emotion and energy that they give off while playing. the instrument is only a channel for their soul, and theyr playing style is just the way they decide to amplify their emotions. sure he may not play as cleanly or as well as the old bluesmen, sometimes that is, but he has a hell of a lot of soul in his playing. just as much as the masters once did.

  10. amazing slide guitar? you don’t play the slide by violently strum the strings with a pick. you want amazing slide, you want duane allman. jack white’s guitar effects > jack white’s skill as a guitarist.

  11. 6:04 guy will forever be in my mind as the guy who didnt get it….
