This tenor guitar is using regular tenor guitar steel strings and it is tuned DGBD which is open G tuning. On this song I am using 6 chords. open: = G bar 2nd fret = A bar 4th fret = B bar 5th fret = C bar 7th fret = D index finger 1st string 3rd fret = G7 As you may have noticed with the last few postings I have 2 tenor guitars. The one in this video is new one made by Gold Tone and it has steel strings tuned in open G (DGBD). The other one is an old Gibson from the late 50s or early 60s that has nylon strings and it is tuned in open F (CFAC). The nylon strings are the middle 4 strings (ADGB) from a classical guitar set. This gives a more mellow tone than the standard tenor guitar steel strings.
