Check out my band at thehardride.wordpress.com This is played on a Gibson Hound Dog 60R. I decided to make this video since I saw a bunch of other cool slide videos on here. Its in G which is pretty easy to play slide in standard tuning. This is one of my few songs for this band that translates well to solo acoustic guitar. Most of them are designed for the trio and loud amps. SWAMPY OOZE (Copyright 2006 Robert Tripp ASCAP) Theres a brokedown shanty shack, way down in the swampy ooze Where theres a hot voodoo woman, with cures for all kinds of blues You cant win with that woman, but its so much fun to lose I know a little cabin, down by the riverside And theres a sweet country woman, who knows how to satisfy She calls me to come down and see her, when shes got a little fish to fry Im goin down by the seaside, down by the ocean blue Where theres a cute little mermaid, singin a song so true I hear her callin and I come runnin, I know just what ive got to do Thanks for listening! 1. Screw the lyrics man. They’re good but I could care less as long as u keep playing like that. I’ve been playing for eleven yrs but I just now started teaching myself how to slide. That’s awesome man.

  2. hi how long you played on that dobro sounds good or a resenator guitar

  3. outstanding slide blues…man, you got it going on!
    lyric suggestion?
(popped in my head as I listened to your vid, so use ’em if you want to)

  8. I’m a memphis girl. and a big time wanna be. i play almost exclusively slides, old style and quite primative. fred mcdowell, rl burnsides, jesse mae hemphill, junior kimbrough – all that north mississippi foothill country blues is what turns me on. But to be perfectly honest, my talents are singing and songwriting. Can’t seem to make my hands play what’s in my head.
But judging from your video, I think we are definitely on the same page.
    So yeah, let’s jam sometime.

  9. thanks for the comment and subscribing! If you lived near me we could jam sometime. maybe something would rub off

  10. diggin your style. can have some of that mojo?

  11. Thanks for the interest, but I’m one of these people who can do, but I’m not so good at teaching how I do it.
